Tribute to a Faithful Servant of God: Dr. Voddie Baucham

I am writing a tribute to one of my favorite and most faithful servants of God. He is gone too soon, and I am still in pain. I am speechless; I don’t know what to say about this news. Well done, good and faithful servant, Dr. Voddie Baucham. My heart is still crying, yet who are we to say it was not his time to see the Lord?

Another giant in the faith has left us, but his legacy remains. How shall we speak of him when our hearts break? How do we honor one who loved Jesus so fervently, yet now is gone from our sight? Yet the Word reminds us: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” (Psalm 116:15)

I am shocked, and I am still in shock. My husband and I will always remember and cherish your wise and true Bible teachings. Voddie Baucham was a force in sound doctrine, and he will surely be missed.

This news hit me so deeply that I don’t want to believe it—that Voddie Baucham has left us. I am sad, but as a follower of Christ, I am surrendering my feelings to Him. His sermons and books were always on point. Though I never personally met him, I loved and rejoiced every time I listened to him preach.

Voddie Baucham ran his race well. He was a soldier of Christ, committed to truth and to proclaiming the gospel. His life was a testimony to faithful discipleship, boldness in conviction, and sacrificial service. He stood on the Word, challenged the church, and encouraged believers to remain strong in a shifting culture.

It is heartbreaking that those who are bold in Christ are taken from us so early. Voddie Baucham was not even 60 years old. This year, 2025, has already hit us with sad news. The Christian community is in mourning, grieving the loss of a faithful servant of God. First Dr. MacArthur, then Charlie Kirk, and now Dr. Voddie Baucham. Yet I believe that God, in His wisdom, will raise up others who will be just as bold in their faith as these strong men of God.

But thanks be to God that death is not the end. I know without doubt they are now dancing in the presence of the Lord, welcomed with the words: “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” The Lord has taken them out of the incoming mess of this world. Whatever God is doing, He has a plan and a purpose.

Though we grieve, we also rejoice:

— Because he is not lost, but found in Christ.

— Because his legacy of truth will continue in the lives he touched.

— Because death is not the end, but the gateway to glory.

We are all witnessing how great men of God are leaving this cruel and broken world. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and all who are mourning this loss. Absent from the body, present with the Lord. A loss to us, but a blessing for Christ.

To his beloved wife Bridget, his children, grandchildren, and to all who mourn, I offer my deepest sympathy. May God comfort you, uphold you, and give you strength in this dark hour.

May we all one day hear those wonderful words ourselves: “Well done, good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your Lord.”

In God’s Presence Now — Rest in Peace, Faithful Servant, Pastor and Theologian Dr. Voddie Baucham.

This Will Not Be the End of Me

“You are going to hear a rumor one day that Voddie Baucham is no more. Don’t you believe it. Don’t you believe it. Don’t you believe it. Because though I die, I will rise with Christ. It will not be the end of me because Christ is raised, and I too will be raised with Christ. That is why He is called the firstborn from the dead. Don’t you dare pity me. You pity the one who wants to hold on to Jesus without holding on to the resurrection. You pity the one who has absolutely no hope because they have no resurrected Christ.”

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7, NIV)
